There's something special about our sense of smell and how it can stir up memories. I love waking up to the smell of a turkey roasting on Thanksgiving morning. It brings memories of my childhood flooding back, brimming with the excitement of spending the day eating delicious food and surrounded by the laughter of family.
Smell has always played a big role I'm my life from selecting my laundry detergent to selecting my shampoo. So, it's no surprise perfume has also been a big part of my life. I'm always on the hunt for a new fragrance and am always curious about women who have their "signature" fragrance. I've never been able to commit to one scent longer than it takes to empty the bottle.
My latest find and current obsession is a perfume by Frederic Malle found on a recent trip to Paris at Editions De Parfums. It's a complex blend of bergamot, orange blossom and neroli. It's light and clean, yet has a richness that lingers. Simply intoxicating. Perhaps this will finally end up as my signature fragrance. Time will tell, after all the bottle is still full!
